THE CURING HOUSE // SUPPORT YOUR INDEPENDENTS

As I sit here now with my tummy a rumbling. All I want is to scoff down some French Toast with my one true love, bacon.

The sun has been well and truly shining in Middlesbrough the past week or so, so an outfit opportunity was a go go. My babes Megan and I grabbed our cameras to soak up the sun and head out for brunch at Middlesbrough's newest spot, The Curing House

This was not any kind of brunch, this was a brunch of champions. I mean it was hard to whittle down some treats on this menu. Home Baked Beans, Black Pudding and Caerphilly Cheese on Toast, Sour Dough Toast with Homemade Preserve and Eggs Florentine with Anchovy Hollandaise, Lardy Scone to name a few. Once I spotted the French Toast, House Cured Streaky Bacon, Seasonal Fruit and Thyme and Honey Syrup my life was made.

The Curing House is situated on Bedford Street, Middlesbrough's most talked about newly renovated street with The Nuthatch, The Chairman and Barbarossa to name a few.

This place is super handy for me to stop by for brunch, lunch or for a special swanky meal out. Right behind Tea House HQ, this place is ever so convenient.

The interior is somewhat very Mad Men and I am a huge fan of that. Such a swanky 60's classic vibe with attention to detail second to none. From the copper light shades and table decor to the geometric tiled floor and wonderful ceramics. As this place specialises in charcuterie and there is nowhere really like this in my little town and there are plenty of platters that I am excited to munch my way through.

Back to the star of the show, that french blooming toast.

2 slices of soft sourdough french toast or eggy bread Megs and I tend to call it. You can take the girl out of Boro hey?! Just look at that stack though. The sourdough was super soft and ever so tasty with the cured bacon a perfect combination of saltiness against the syrup. Yum, yum.

This brunch teamed with orange juice, a pot of tea and a glass of water. Carli three drinks was back in town obviously. We sat back, chatted blogging, adventures and that trip up to Newcastle to see Busted this weekend.

This place is super cool and I can't wait to try the evening menu out soon. As it is a little bit different for Middlesbrough I know it won't instantly appeal to the masses as people can be scared to try something a little bit that isn't well, - Nando's. But once word well and truly gets around, I bet there will be a waiting list for a table on weekends.

I know I will most certainly be back to sample something from the Cheese Larder and the Charcuterie Plates.

This place makes for the most instagramable brunch and that make this Tea Bee a happy girl.

With all the ingredients local where can be and hand picked from some of the finest suppliers around, this place can be a tickle on the pricer side. That is most certainly not me complaining one bit as I love somewhere a little special when I fancy treating myself for an occasion. I can't wait to take the other half here and sample some more of their tasty delights such as the Duck Confit Ravioli and the Corned Beef Brisket.

Now what are you waiting for?

You can find The Curing House at 21-23 Bedford Street, Middlesbrough, TS1 2LL.

Happy hump day!

Love Carli x
