So I did it, at the grand old age of 29 I have just bought my very first ever car!
It took me a while to pass my test to begin with in all honesty. I think it was mainly a mix of nerves and not actually feeling old enough to be trusted with being in control of driving a car but as soon as I hit 17 it was in with that 5 block booking of lessons to see if I was any good and that for you my friends is for you to decide.
I started off with a driving instructor, he was ok, but I don't think he had that much time for me being a little anxious and we failed a whole two tests together. Sorry Ian!
I then went on to another fella and we rocked up to the centre for it to be cancelled due to weather conditions and then I went on to fail the rescheduled one.
I left it for a little while after that. A good year, and booked in with a lady as I thought you know what why not give a lass a go. Yup, you guessed it, fail number 4!
I went to rebook with this said lady but she disappeared off the face of the earth and I booked her gal pal Sheila and not only did I fail with her but she booked me into the wrong test centre too. Absolute bigger fail!
I then decided that driving was most certainly not for me and started to get a little hard on myself and after a couple years off the learning. I thought come on girl give it one last shot.
I only went and blooming did it. 2011 you were the year for me. I put it down to being mature, well slightly.
So there you have it. I am now the proud owner of little red Citroen C1 and I couldn't be happier. I am a car expert now right? I learnt how to drive one and now buy one, with the help of my bestie's Pop's, thanks Norm!
I mean I ain't going lie, I am a bit shady with checking my gas and oil and what not because yup, I am a bit of a girl. I am also a slim shady when it comes to knowing my car dashboard emojis that beep and flash every now and again. Ok, ok, they are actually warning lights and majorly important so do take a few minutes to have a read of what I want to educate you guys on. From your Catalytic Converter to your Diesel Particulate Filter, Go Girl will help you identify and understand these a little better.
Driving is such a privilege for me and having the freedom to go where I want, when I want with who I want without relying on any other human soul is da bomb. I would never want to jeopardize that either as it nearly took a whole decade to complete one little life goal so I am a total Nana when it comes to driving and the biggest law a bider you ever did meet. Fun second, safety first.
Now go pass that test, go swat up on what you need to know and take a peek at what Go Girl Car Insurance have to offer.
Love Carli x
*This is a sponsored post but taking so long to past my test and being ever so hard on myself is the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Good things are worth waiting for. X
