ANNIE SLOAN

I love a good bit of DIY - like I really do. I class my whole shop refit as a DIY - it was me and a few friends that got The Olde Young Tea House renovated and open in 8 weeks. Crazy. Take a peek at the Before and After, now that was a good few weeks of pizza eating and comfort margaritas.

Back to business: a few weeks bac,k the lovelies over at Concept invited me along to come and take a sneak peek at their Annie Sloan collection and see if I wanted to try a little bit of DIY out myself. I was not going to decline as this shop is the sweetest little place!

You can see the full shop post here - absolute independent beauty.

There was so much to take in but help was at hand and I got stuck straight in...

Jeannie and Sophie are the best DIY hosts in the world and so passionate at what they do. Everything in store is painted with love and boy do they create some delightful pieces. Totally affordable too - I picked up the most amazing peacock chair, painted and waxed for just under £50.

Concept have been stocking Annie Sloan for the past year and have become experts in this field, holding workshops and meeting the lady herself - not once but twice.

Annie is one of the worlds most respected paint and colour experts - Hey!! Girl Power!

She has transformed the world of furniture by creating her own brand of decorative, Chalk Paint - guys - she is the original!

It was time for me to pick out my own colour.

Jeanie and Sophie, it was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with you ladies and take peek around you lovely store. Make sure you book in fast for the workshops as they get snapped up quickly.

Look at that bag of swag.

You can find Concept on 367 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS5 6AB

Also don't forget to mention The Tea Bee when you make you purchases in store to receive 10% off as a little treat.

Show your independents some love and crack out some DIY this summer... I can't wait to start mine.

To be continued...
