I have been craving my pale skinny ass off for a Sunday Roast for the past few weeks. Like I mean a real good one with all the trimmings. One with Yorkshire Pudding's the size of my face and a variety of vegetables that makes me go weak at the knees.
After a little peek online here and there I was quick to snake eye that The Curing House were seriously upping their Sunday game in the form of roasting on a blooming Sunday.
There is something about a Sunday that I totally love. It's a slow day for me if I am not working down at Tea House HQ. A day where I can do what the devil I want. Flipping pancakes and filling them to the brim with Nutella or getting into bed with copious cups of tea and bourbon biscuits. I don't ask for much. Ok, maybe the odd Chinese and binge night of Broadchurch (Series 1) No spoilers purleaseeeeee.
Squandering a roast always wins hands down. Gosh how I have missed a good old roast.I knew The Curing House would not disappoint so off I popped down to Bedford Street to sample their newest addition to the menu. Their menu changes weekly due to what is in season or what delights they fancy sharing with the Teesside massive.
Let's get down to business! Starter! Hit me up!
I went for a Cheesy Bean Rarebit with Worcester Sauce. Delightful little Kidney Beans on a huge slab of sough dough topped with plenty of cheese. This tasted an absolute dream and I could eat this morning, noon and night.
My dinner date had food envy, obviously, because I am now a queen at ordering but I was feeling a little generous so half/half was most certainly on the cards. I was not disappointed by his choice either, Confit Chicken and Chorizo Terrine, Roast Tomato Relish & Sourdough Toast. That relish was so tasty I could lather that on everything and I would die a happy Tea Lady. It was so sweet and the perfect accompaniment to the terrine or even just straight from the pot. Guilty!
The starters were washed down with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio and I was ready for the main event. A Rump Beef Roast for me with all the trimmings. Beef Dripping Roast Potatoes, Cabbage, Peas & Sweetcorn, Roasted Beetroot which topped this off for me and a very generous portion of Broccoli & Cauliflower Cheese.
Ohhhh, how can I forget those humongous Yorkie P's. Two perfectly cooked batter buns to finish off this masterpiece.
And plenty of meaty gravy.
My friend opted for something a little lighter because Sunday means football and football means man health.
A mound of Chorizo & Red Pepper Risotto topped with a piece of North Sea Coley and Kimchi was not to be sniffed at.
There is plenty of options to choose from on this menu, Herb Brined Chicken Breast and Smoked Belly Bacon with Homemade Black Pudding to name a few.
As I have a huge sweet tooth I just had to tuck in to a dessert. Tonka Bean Panna Cotta, Granola & Jam and a Sticky Figgy Pudding to totally tip me into food coma.
The cinema trip to follow lunch went right out the window after this banquet. So it was beached whaling it and sofa surfing all evening.
I love The Curing House and all it has to offer. The passion behind each and every dish on the menu is outstanding and these guys really know their stuff. This place gets super busy at lunch time and quite rightly so, so make sure you book ahead. Sunday lunch is served from 11am - 4pm. If you are like me and not a fan of a packed out place then maybe hit them up at around 3pm when the crazy Sunday Roast rush calms down a little. It's those Yorkshire Pudding's I tell you.
1 course is £13, 2 courses is £16 and 3 courses is steal at £19 per person.
These guys do not compromise on quality. To have this right on my doorstep is something that I most certainly do not take for granted, and you should not either. Get yourselves booked in and try it out for yourselves. Writing this up has been a struggle in itself. I had to stop and eat substandard beans on toast and then just lust after that Sticky Figgy Pudding. So Tea Bee's, if you are out and about and looking for a good old Sunday Roast with proper Yorkshires, go and give The Curing House a try. You will not be disappointed. Oh man. I love beef. Because you know, I'm anaemic. Sure I've told you? Those yorkshires look right up my street LIKE.

They offer buyers a somewhat anonymous way of inspecting a house without any sales pressure. It's a great way to screen buyers to see which ones are ready-to-buy so that you can spend the most time with those buyers. guarantor loans
