A TEA LADY WEDDING // LAGOS // DAY 1

Now let's get this wedding show on the road. I have just got back from the most special place in the world which is where I shall be wed in October, Lagos. Portugal has this crazy hold over me and I just don't know why. This post is a sort of diary of my planning last week and how I attempt to plan a stress free wedding abroad.

BURGER WARS - FAT HIPPO UNDERGOUND

Girl needs some meat once in a while.

Megan and I took a little trip up to Newcastle the other week to try out some amazing foodie joints. A trip ain't a real trip if you ain't gonna eat like a king right?!

I read a quote just last night that I can really resonate with. 'Relationships are just two people constantly asking each other what they want to eat, until one of them dies.' Now this sounds morbid but please take this as light hearted as you can. This quote pretty much sums up my life, my relationship and my friendships. Why do we talk about food so gawd darn much or is this just my inner fat kid coming out? We had plans and I couldn't be any more excited to try out one of the newest burger bars in town Fat Hippo Underground.

JESMOND DENE HOUSE // AFTERNOON TEA

How about this to kick start the week? I can't believe it was one whole week ago since I had a Monday off all to myself. There is something about having the dreaded 'M' day off that makes me feel like a new woman. I made the most of it mind by heading up to Newcastle to explore some hidden gems and soak up some sun in one of my favourite cities in the UK.

TEA LADY WEARS // SUMMER STYLE

The sun has been shining for at least 3 days up north, so it is officially summer and I am totally ready for a couple of months of some golden rays.

I never really have much planned over the summer months as Tea House HQ can be quite busy with parties, school holidays and training up new tea bees but this year is a whole different kettle of fish.

ROME // PART 3 // TRASTEVERE

What the funk is Trastevere?

To be honest I still don't know how to pronounce it so hang right there till I give it a good old Google.

Tras - TEH - veh - reh

THE CURING HOUSE // SUPPORT YOUR INDEPENDENTS

As I sit here now with my tummy a rumbling. All I want is to scoff down some French Toast with my one true love, bacon.

The sun has been well and truly shining in Middlesbrough the past week or so, so an outfit opportunity was a go go. My babes Megan and I grabbed our cameras to soak up the sun and head out for brunch at Middlesbrough's newest spot, The Curing House

ROME // PART 2 // ENOTECA TRASTEVERE

I could not go to Rome and not pop in a foodie post now could I?

Enoteca Trastevere really did blow our socks off. We visited here a couple of times to get plans together, charge up batteries and celebrate Tea Lady Pennies birthday breakfast with a cocktail or two.

First up was to sample the famous Aperol Spritz of course.

We kicked back in the sunshine connected to wifi, because if we don't Instagram it didn't happen right? Oh, and Pennie is a social media queen!

We sipped on cocktails and mulled over the menu watching the Italian world go by.

This place is the utter cutest.

Inside was pretty special too. Walls filled with the finest Italian wines and miss matched tables and chairs really made this place feel a little like home.

This place is cute small with about 6 tables inside. Two window seats which we of course grabbed to people watch over the patio which is huge. You can sit under the canopy all warm and toasty and eat and drink till your hearts content.

The service was great with even the offer of dancing with the waiters in the evening. We kindly declined as we needed our beauty sleep and rest our tired trotters after the 30,000 steps we racked up in just one day. When in Rome!

Enoteca Trastevere is situated in my favourite area of Rome. Quoted as the most charming neighbourhood, Trastevere is a must to visit and get lost in if you ever get the chance to explore.

Stay posted for a Trastevere post soon. I made so many memories wandering these streets and losing all sense of direction.

Getting lost on the cobbled streets is exactly how we found this little gem of a place. Some people call it being lost but we called it fate.

Look at how cute the outside terrace is?! If I could pick this up and take it home to be right outside my shop I would. The wooden crates, green leaved plants, flickering candles and the miss matched furniture was right up my street.

All this talk is getting me hungry. Let me show you the show stopper that we had as a 'snack'. This 'snack'  filled us right up until supper time. A bruschetta platter with some mouth watering toppings such as sun dried tomatoes & cream cheese, olive tapernade and cream cheese, brie & pear, mozzarella & pesto and plenty of ripe baby vine tomatoes.

I literally think I just dribbled down my dressing gown while writing this. Gone are the days where I could chow down on a good old bit of crusty bread now I have a face full of brace. I am so glad Rome happened before these train tracks got put on otherwise I would have been a very sad girl.

The cocktails were delish and so was the beer.

So, if you do happen to book up and have the chance to explore Rome make sure you stop by here.

You can find Enoteca Trastevere on Via della Lungaretta 86, 00153, Rome Italy.

Maybe you will be able to take up the offer of dancing for us.

Ciao bella.

Love Carli x

BEATS, BURGERS AND BEERS

After I devour a burger all I want to do is come home and fall into a big greasy burger coma.

I love a good burger. A beef burger, a chicken burger, a bean burger and oh boy, I can't forget that fritter burger I had in Honest Burger a few years back!

I wonder how many times I can say burger in a blog post. Burger, burger, burger.
