TEA LADY WEARS - A SUMMER POLAROID

And what do we have here then? A sunny day in April? Hell yes we do! Such a perfect opportunity to get a few snaps of my newest faves that I want to share with you all.

I am so in love with this powder blue dress from New Look. My mum got married in a dress quite similar and I have been on the hunt for something this colour for years and years. The shape of the dress is super shifty, light and makes me want to twirl around in it all day.

The detail over the midriff area is perfect for someone like me who is not totally OK with getting their tummies right out. I have never really thought that look suited me but with the fabric slightly cut out I feel like I am giving it ago without flaunting everything.

What do you need to top off this super summer outfit? A pair of sunnies for good measure of course.

Boots are relaunching some absolute beauties this season, so you can protect those peepers with some amazing brands such as Ray Ban, Guess and Serengeti to name a few.

These Polaroid Havana Sunglasses* landed on my doorstep and it was love at first sight. I am a little funny when it comes to shade shapes and sizes as my little pea head does not really pull off many styles but these are a perfect fit for my tiny tiny head.

I am a huge fan of tortoiseshell and with these retro shaped round frames I am literally in love. They keep me nice and protected from the sun's shiny rays, providing me with 100% UV400 protection which means out with the old zero protection sunnies and in with these new beauties.

I can feel a retro vibe hitting our summers in one swift sunglasses swoop. I think it is time to dust off my Polaroid camera from the depths of my garage and create some memories wearing a pair of Polaroids don't you think?

Make sure you take a peek at what Boots have to offer on their designer sunglasses range as you may be pleasantly surprised. There is currently 15% off when you spend £85 or more so go grab yourself a  summer bargain.

I have far too many big bags that I just sling over my shoulder, full of dirty tea towels, dog biscuits and snot rags but sometime us ladies just need a small purse to pop in the essentials.

This Mini Purse Bag* from Joe Browns is perfect for just that. I love the length of the chain as I can wear it over my shoulder or right across my body if I want to make it a little more secure.
I can fit my phone, keys and a little purse in here easy peasy.

It really does have that Mulberry Mini Lily look about it and for 1/10th of the price it would be rude not to.

I have the month of May packed with so much excitement I feel like I want to squeal. I can't wait for lighter nights, ice creams by the beach and oh, that wedding I am planning for.

What are your summer staples? I would love to know what you guys like to get up to in the sunnier months.

Hope you have all have a great week.

Love Carli x

ROME // PART 1

As I sit here with my pug dog on my lap and the neighbour cutting his lawn, I am dreaming of last month when I was sat with an Aperol Spritz in one hand a huge slab of crunchy bruschetta in the other. I am casting my mind back to soaking up some rays and exploring one of the most prettiest cities I have ever visited in my 29 years. Rome you stole a little piece of my heart!

Now what I should have done is wrote these posts up when I got back instead of torturing myself by editing these beautiful pictures.

Take me back.

THE NUTHATCH // SUPPORT YOUR INDEPENDENTS

I love a good cocktail. And when I mean a good cocktail, I really mean a 'good' cocktail.  I guess I am a self confessed Cocky T snob when it comes to some liquor in a fancy glass. Who woulda guessed it?!  I like places that take cocktail making to another level. I like consistency and I really don't mind waiting if it is going to be extra special. I don't ask much do I?

COME PAMPER WITH ME

Sometimes you just need a little bit of 'me' time. Now, I can not preach this to any of you as I rarely give myself even half an hour to just relax and get stuck into a book or catch up on my latest series on Netflix because I just feel so guilty. I have touched on this before in my The Truth Is blog post and I am working on giving myself a little chill time to rest my racing mind.

TONTINE MILK STOUT CAKE

Still got a few bottles of stout kicking around after St Patrick's Day? Don't fear, a recipe is here to help get rid of it in the shape of the most delicious cake you ever did taste.

This is my take on a Guinness Cake made with the creamiest and brand spanking new Tontine's Milk Stout by Cameron's Brewery.
